Tucked between the pool and the patio dining area of the main house, this refined cabana was conceived as a multifunctional retreat—both a lively hub for summer gatherings and a cozy enclave for crisp autumn evenings. Designed to create a seamless flow between poolside relaxation and outdoor entertaining, the structure houses a shaded lounge, a powder room, and a discreet storage area.
A palette of natural materials grounds the project in warmth and texture: clear cedar lattice panels offer both privacy and filtered light, casting rhythmic shadows across the natural stone fireplace and seating area. The ceiling is clad in cedar tongue-and-groove boards, while the exterior features Dutch lap siding for durability with architectural charm.
Seasonal adaptability was central to the design. The lounge includes space heaters tucked into the ceiling, a fireplace, and retractable sun-shading devices to temper the western light—allowing the owners to enjoy college football games well into the fall with friends. The cedar lattice acts as both a sculptural screen and functional envelope, delivering a layer of elegance while subtly controlling views, breeze, and light.
This project exemplifies the quiet luxury of purposeful design—simple materials, expertly detailed, in harmony with lifestyle.
